June 24, 2013, today is the fourth
class for curriculum and learning management in English. My friends
and I presented about Pronunciation Teaching, Culture Teaching, Language
Evaluation, and Communicative Language Teaching.
First, Pronunciation teaching that I
presented. There are two general approaches to the teaching of pronunciation is
imitative approaches and linguistic approaches. Imitative approaches depends on
the learner’s ability to listen to and imitative the rhythms and sound of the
target language without the intervention of any explicit information. A
linguistic approach explicitly informs the learner of and focuses attention on
the sounds and rhythms of the target language. Pronunciation teaching that the
teacher teaches about phonemic alphabet or phonemic transcription, consonant,
vowel, connected speech, word stress, sentence stress and rhythm.
Second, Culture Teaching. Culture is a
broad concept that embraces all aspect of human life. Students can learn
autonomously more in group work. Teacher should introduce and produce culture
readers. Foreign culture acquisition cannot be achieved merely through
classroom teaching. This introductory course hopes to help students better
understand the culture.
Third, Language Evaluation. Teacher
has to evaluate by using various formation. Language evaluation can observe
from class participation, Presentation, Assignment and etc.
Finally, Communicative competences are
four kinds of competence: Linguistics or grammatical competence is teaching
pronounce, vocabulary, and structure of grammar, Socialistic competence is
language with other culture, Discourse competence is reading for interpret and
Strategic competence is how to solve the problem in listening, speaking,
reading and writing.
To sum up, Conclusion, Today I learnt
more content than two weeks ago. I think all of content have many useful that I
can apply to do the English teaching plan. Each of methods describe about how
to teach so when I get it I have the better knowledge. So, if I be a teacher
it’s good for my job in teaching too.
